Tatjana Hörnle has been Director at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law in Freiburg and Head of the Department of Criminal Law as well as Honorary Professor at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin since October 2019. From July 2009 to September 2019, she held the Chair of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Legal Philosophy, and Comparative Law at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Before that, from 2004 to 2009, she was full professor for Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and Philosophy of Law at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Tatjana Hörnle is a member of the Leopoldina (National Academy of Sciences), the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and the Mainz Academy of Sciences and Literature.
